Authorities reported on Friday that Mexico’s Popocatepetl volcano has been continuously rumbling and spewing gases and molten fragments almost a mile from it crater.

As of Sunday officials are not planning any evacuations of the 28,000 residents who live closer to the volcano. So far the volcano has been releasing large quantities of ash for 10 days.
Residents have been advised on how to deal with the ash that is falling in their areas.
The federal government has coordinated with the nearby states in the event the situation worsens. This volcano has caused false alarms in the past most recently in 2000 in which residents in nearby communities were evacuated.
